HOW TO DISPOSE OF BIOPOT?

BioPot straws are set up so that they can be disposed of in industrial composting, but there is nothing to prevent them from being collected with traditional plastic straws, which then go into the incinerator. Unlike regular plastic straws, Biopot straws save CO² emissions by about 85 percent compared to polypropylene.

COMPOSITION

The raw material of BioPot consists of about 70% NON-fossil carbon that is derived from natural sources (CO² --> photosynthesis --> potatoes --> potato starch --> raw material).

HOT AND COLD: SUITABILITY

Following specific tests in which the straws were kept in the freezer, it was found that they remained intact.

Regarding heat, drinks should not exceed 35-40°C.
Room temperature, darkness and a dry environment are ideal for storage.

Avoid direct heat sources such as coffee machines, dishwashers, windows, car etc.

WARRANTY CERTIFICATIONS

The material of the straws is certified OK COMPOST INDUSTRIAL so they must be disposed of in an industrial composting, they are NOT meant for disposal in the environment.
The material used is certified according to European standards regarding compostability (EN13432) and organic origin (ASTM D 6866).

COMPOSITION

75% is biobased and most of it is potato starch and fiber. Potato peels and unmarketable potatoes are used to produce the raw material. The rest are minerals such as calcium phosphate and magnesium sulfate. This mass is degradable and the residues are absolutely nontoxic.

IT IS NOT PLA

PLA is a material derived from corn and from the U.S., but BioPot is a different material, a raw material absolutely NOT containing plasticizer and NOT genetically modified.
In addition, this raw material comes from the European Union, specifically from a company in Germany. By avoiding the long transportation
from America, it saves additional CO2 emissions.
