The Italian Gin by Fulvio Piccinino

Gin, a famous juniper-based spirit, has distant origins, often located in northern Europe, and has been present in our tradition for centuries.

Alchemical texts from the 16th century, Renaissance and Modern Age liquor books, to more recent spirits, confirm that the Italian phenomenon has deep roots and is not based on improvisation.
The book traces the historical events of juniper liqueurs and the first Italian gins, thus producing the first Italian monograph on the subject.

Much attention is given to raw materials, characteristics of modern gins and producers. A section is devoted to some cocktails of the past outside the box of the great classics.

THE AUTHOR: FULVIO PICCININO

Fulvio Piccinino is a bartender expert in merchandising and mixing. He teaches in hotel schools and holds seminars at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo. He is the administrator of the website saperebere.com and inventor of the permanent seminar Experience Vermouth.
With Graphot editrice, Fulvio has published Saperebere - La cultura del bere responsabile and Il Vermouth di Torino.
With his books, he vows to bring to light the history of Italian liquor making, long unjustly forgotten.
