THE AMERICAN COFFEE

American coffee is often defined as a classic espresso coffee diluted with hot water. It should be known, however, that real American coffee has little to do with our espresso. If we wanted to enjoy the real "mug," we would be presented with a coffee made by a totally different preparation technique than that reserved for espresso: there is no pressure during extraction.

THE EXTRACTION OF AMERICAN COFFEE

The extraction of American coffee can be done either by simple infusion or through special tools such as, for example, the so-called "French press."
Espresso is and must be full-bodied by tradition, while American coffee, being the subject of infusion, is inevitably more delicate. Therefore, it is not the presence of more water that differentiates American coffee from espresso, but an undoubtedly more complex preparation technique. Moreover, the authentic American coffee blend is light, not too bitter and not very full-bodied.
