THE AMERICAN COFFEE

American coffee is often defined as a classic espresso coffee diluted with hot water. In reality, American coffee has little to do with our espresso. If we wanted to enjoy the real mug, coffee would be presented to us with a totally different brewing technique than that reserved forespresso: in fact, there is no pressure during extraction.

The extraction of American coffee can be done by simple infusion or through special tools, such as the so-called French press.

Espresso is and traditionally should be full-bodied, while American coffee, being subject to infusion, is inevitably more delicate. It is therefore not the presence of more water that differentiates American coffee from espresso, but an undoubtedly more complex preparation technique. Finally, the authentic blend of American coffee is light, not very full-bodied and not too bitter either.
