The 12.5 cl borosilicate glass 100% Chef's Martini cup is widely used for the ever-popular tasting of cocktails, i.e., the serving of half-drinks in venues. The idea is not only to offer smaller quantities to customers to try more drinks, but also to bring back in vogue the old cocktail dosages of the early 20th century..
ROBUSTNESS AND STRENGTH
Keeping the dosages smaller makes it easier to do food pairing, that is, to match each dish with its perfect drink, which is precisely possible only if the dosages are smaller, so from appetizer to dessert it is easier to change cocktails. The glass used for these 100% Chef Martini glasses is borosilicate, an exceptionally robust quality, being resistant to baths of nitro, the blowtorch andlarge changes in temperature. Ideal for elegant and superlative presentation of the immortal Martini cocktail.
A BIT OF HISTORY
The origin of the name of the cup is disputed, but it always revolves around the very famous drink. According to one version, it is the name of the Italian bartender who first, in London in 1912, prepared it for John D. Rockefeller; according to another, it was Jerry Thomas, in the 1950s, who invented it to relieve a miner's stomach ache on the road to Martinez (California); according to yet another, it finally has to do with the Italian vermouth of the same name.
