Bio-plastic compostable straws cm 21X0.7 are a must-have of their kind.
The company that makes them has come up with a new name for the material they are made of that is neither plastic, NOT PLA nor paper, but BIOPOT.
BIO-PLASTIC STRAWS: BIOPOT
Certified according to European standards regarding compostability (EN13432) and organic origin (ASTM D 6866), it is made of 69% potato starch and fibers. Specifically, potato peels and non-marketable potatoes are used. For the rest, they are composed of minerals such as calcium phosphate and magnesium phosphate. What results is a 100% degradable product; in fact, the residues from the bio-plastic straws are ABSOLUTELY non-toxic.
COMPOSTABLE STRAWS: DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BIO POT AND PLA
Bio Pot is NOT PLA!PLA is a designation by which many biodegradable and compostable materials are classified. PLA is a material from the USA, derived from corn.
Bio Pot residues, after degradation, are non-toxic, and the raw material contains absolutely NO plasticizers and is NOT GM material.
HOT AND COLD: SUITABILITY
Following specific tests in which the straws were kept in the freezer, it was found that they remained intact.Regarding heat, drinks should not exceed 35-40°C.
Room temperature, darkness and a dry environment are ideal for storage.
Avoid direct heat sources such as coffee machines, dishwashers, windows, car etc.
BIO-PLASTIC COMPOSTABLE STRAWS: DERIVATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The raw material from which compostable straws are made is derived from the European Union, so avoiding transportation from America saves a lot of CO2 emissions.Bio-plastic compostable straws are available at RG Mania in black or white.
