LODGE REVERSIBLE GRIDDLE: FIRST USE AND MAINTENANCE
Made in the United States, the Lodge cast-iron griddle is to be hand-washed and dried even before first use.The recommendation is to rub it with a light coat of vegetable oil after each wash, enough to restore its luster, so as to keep the cast iron as protected from moisture as possible.
PRODUCT CARE
WASHING: Wash cast iron cookware by hand. A small amount of soap may be used.
If necessary, use a scraper. For stubborn residue, boil some water for 3-5 minutes, then use the scraper after the pot has cooled.
DRYING: Dry promptly and thoroughly with a lint-free cloth or paper towel.
If you notice a small black residue on the towel, it is perfectly normal.
CARE: Rub a very light layer of cooking oil on the surface of the pans.
Use a paper towel to wipe the surface until no more oil residue remains.
If there is any rust on the product, it should be treated with steel wool, rinsed, dried and rubbed with a little oil.
