INDIRECT COOKING WITH THE COVEGGTOR

In addition to grilling, baking, steaming, frying and smoking, the Big Green Egg is also suitable for slow cooking larger pieces of meat or delicate ingredients such as shellfish, crustaceans and fish fillets. Using the ceramic Conveggtor, you can easily turn it into an oven.

This part acts as a heat shield that prevents the charcoal from transmitting direct heat to the food, and in turn ensures a slow cooking process.

By adding the ceramic baking stone, it allows you to easily bake bread and pizza with an authentic crispy crust.

HOW IT WORKS.

  • Ceramic cover cap: at the end of cooking, by placing the ceramic cover cap, you can turn off the charcoal, thus stopping the heat. It is thus possible to reuse leftover charcoal in the future, which can remain in the brazier even when not in use.
  • Lid with chimney: the dome-shaped ceramic lid with chimney can be opened and closed easily with the spring mechanism. The ceramic material has a double protective glaze. The insulating and heat-retention properties of the material create internal airflow so that dishes are cooked evenly.
  • Support rim: is placed above the burning area and supports both the indirect cooking plate and cooking grates.
  • Ceramic hearth: is placed inside the base and must be filled with charcoal. Thanks to its sophisticated openings and ventilation areas, airflow is kept constant and optimal when the upper temperature control system (chimney) and the lower ventilation system are open.
  • Base: extraordinarily durable insulated ceramic. Resists chipping and will not fade.
  • Dual-function metal upper part (chimney): performs a dual task, regulating airflow and controlling temperature precisely..
  • Thermometer: accurately reports the internal temperature. It allows you to monitor the cooking progress without opening the Egg.
  • Stainless steel grill: is the main cooking surface used for grilling or roasting.
  • Grate: it is placed inside the firebox and has a perforated structure that allows air to rise to the top and ash to remain at the bottom of the grate so that it is easier to remove at the end of cooking.
  • Ventilation opening: works in tune with the dual-function metal top, regulating the incoming airflow to control temperature. It also enables ash removal.
