Croxetti: a typical dish of yesterday's Varese cuisine that were cooked for holidays and on special occasions. The molds, still found in the various Varese families, had different sizes and engravings, simple and elaborate, but all aimed at leaving an indelible mark on the dough.
Noble families had the mold personalized and in some cases with the family coat of arms.
The designs that the engravings leave on the dough make it more resistant to baking.
