If you are a lover of potting or a kitchen enthusiast who often tries your hand at new techniques, then you should definitely try the Weck line. To be used, however, these glass jars need springs for their closure and, above all, a specific rubber seal for jars.
Using them is very simple: once you open the jar, just introduce the ingredients, then place the gasket on the rim, close with the glass stopper and seal with the steel springs.
It is called a Weck jar seal precisely because it is specific to this line. It ensures that the jars are completely sealed but without the friction that would be created if you were not using it for baking. The jar seal also makes sure that there is no contamination of air, water or anything else from the outside during baking.
Once you have finished cooking, you have 2 options: present the jar exactly as it is at the table, or uncover it by removing the metal hooks and rubber gasket, leaving the glass stopper slightly ajar, so as to keep the dish warm but provide it ready for tasting, saving the guest from having to open it.
Try potting, but use the right tools. Sometimes all it takes is a small detail for the success of a special dish.
