Mixingby Federico Mastellari and Giovanni Ceccarelli is a book on mixing that stems from the realization that the way of thinking about cocktails is changing; bars are focusing their interest on how to reinvent them and the different ingredients to use; and customers also like to try something different.
You have to look at the past to be innovative in the present: that is the leitmotif, the dogma, the premise, the imperative for anyone working in this industry.
CONTENT
Mixing is a current guide to the world of cocktails, attentive to the new but with eyes firmly in the past. The book that all bartenders would like to have at their station.
The book is divided into 2 broad parts.
The first covers the topics necessary to understand a cocktail: taste and flavor, an extensive analysis of ice, and everything you need to know about preparation techniques.
The second part, on the other hand, consists of a rich recipe book (more than 1,000 drinks) made up of great classics of the past and present, revisitations and especially step-by-step explanations of home-made ingredient preparations, tips on how to handle raw materials, instrumentation, and flavor directions to learn how to revisit and try new combinations.

Giovanni Ceccarelli, on the other hand, has been a trainer for Drink Factory itself since 2010 and creator of the blog giovanniceccarelli.com, where he discusses topics related to mixing in a scientific tone: raw materials, techniques and tools. He also writes for the trade magazine BarTales.
