A man who has made His passion, His work and the reason for His life experience.
"Turning Passion into Love is one of the secrets"-Silvano confides to us.
"Of Passion one is an irrational slave, Love on the other hand is pure Energy."
"As I told you, Love is Energy; and of Energy are made All Things.
To grasp, Understand and interpret Energy in its infinite expressions, is a path that has no end or precise goal. I wanted to give my interpretation in each of my Selections: my bottles can be compared to silent soldiers that with tenacity have worked for me,have spoken about me during these 45 years of activity. Quality is a perception that is accessible to everyone,
it is the quality we offer that speaks for us, it is the quality we offer that speaks about us and says who we are."
In the early 1980s the industrialization of Whisky began:
before that time, the typical climatic characteristics of different areas, were very distinct and perceptible. The signatures of the houses were unmistakable.
It was about 20 years since I had embarked on my adventure as a Selector,
in the 1990s the malts used by the distilleries, had the same origin.
Very often the yeasts came from the same companies,
this combination led to an inevitable flattening of the market.
Companies offer fair, easy, healthy, pleasant distillates: that sell.
The great vintage ones are therefore destined to disappear.
In those very years, looking at the photograph of the current situation, I asked myself, "If the raw materials are almost identical, (I select casks, So I do not intervene in either fermentation or distillation) How can I EMOTION?"
The market should be preceded, not followed, Following trends means putting yourself in complete competition: sharing part of an already created market. Preceding trends means launching new ones.
The "enlightenment" came while drinking a great 30-year-old.
On the nose elegant, perfect, regal, majestic but the palate did not match it; it did not support it as you can see from the chart,

bottling it at the "right" time between peak olfactory and textural achievement during aging, up to that point, might have been relatively easy.
As with any art form, the peculiarity is not the color tone or the volume of the instrument: but the interpretation.
"I could have painted or sculpted, I got a distillate. This is my form of expression." Thus was born NO AGE-a vertical assemblage of different vintage.
-A twist on the market, a surprising insight in the style of Silvano Samaroli,
a gift for us lovers of His Selections-.
Assembling vertically allowed me to give maximum expressiveness to a series of barrels by assembling them with courage and wisdom. The acidity of an 8-10 year old makes it gain volume, the vanilla typical of a 12-14 year old rounds out
the fruitiness and floral that are acquired at 20 years old; the whole gives structure to the great elegance of aged over 30 years. With NO AGE I wanted to remove all forms of preconception: alcoholic degree or age no longer matter.
I wanted to Destroy the idea that blending is a half-hearted attempt to please everyone; disrupting the meaning of the term through skillful dosing and deep knowledge of the various barrels. With NO AGE I do not want to achieve perfection, but to give an Emotion.
A new provocation comes with the soon to be released NO AGE.
Whisky is energy: it is as alive as wine, only with a different tempo.
The distillate continues to evolve and age even in the bottle.
Understanding this detail, the next NO AGE will have a screw cap that preserves its longevity.
-After this long talk, Silvano, I have one more question: are you not jealous of your secrets?
"Absolutely not, I tell them precisely so that they do not remain so."
