One hundred bartenders for a challenge to the last cocktail.

-

On April 4 in Piacenza, the AIBES competition crowns the excellence of Emilia Romagna and Republic of San Marino in a spectacular day-event.

One hundred bartenders behind the bar, shakers and mixing glass to surprise an audience of more than 500 industry professionals and trade associations. The best barmen will compete on April 4 in the splendid setting of Villa Avila (Rivalta di Gazzola - Piacenza) in front of a jury composed of leading members of the Italian Sommelier Association.

The competition AIBES (Italian Association of Barmen and Supporters) section Emilia Romagna and Republic of San Marino, completely revolutionizes its expressive format in two fundamental points: from the squares it moves to an evocative location; it opens to the whole wide world of food&beverage, with exhibition spaces dedicated to innovative solutions and products of the sector.

Creativity and invention, the innovative mix of products from the entire Italian liquor scene, will be at work from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 4, in a spectacular event dedicated to industry professionals and hotel school students, but also open to enthusiasts who want to learn about the fascinating universe of barmen through fun.

The barmen will compete with their own original recipes, divided into categories:

Pre dinner (Head Barmen and Barmen)
After dinner (Head Barmen and Barmen)
Long drink (Head Barmen and Barmen)
Angelo Zola Award (special dedicated to barmen under 28 years old)
A.I.B.E.S. Award. Tomorrow, "Nando Pucci Negri" (sparkling) (Aspirants)
Emerging (coffee cocktails) (reserved for the 12 best trainees of the AIBES Emilia Romagna-RSM section).

The challenge begins at 9 a.m.: until 1 p.m. barmen under 28 years old (Angelo Zola category) will compete, while from 2:30 to 8 p.m. barmen from the other categories will perform in succession.

At the end of the event, at 8:30 p.m., Villa Avila will host an exclusive gala dinner (reservations required), ending the day dedicated to the performance of the hundred barmen with a moment of high social interaction, after decreeing and awarding the 2011 winners, who will enter the AIBES national competition.

The transition from a street event to a dedicated location offers the opportunity for professionals and industry enthusiasts to meet and compare notes personally in a non-dispersive manner, without detracting from the open and fun characteristics characteristic of past editions. The presence of exhibition spaces dedicated to food&beverage companies (for information you can contact Andrea Balboni - Vulcanica - at the email address: andrea@vulcanica.net) is also an expression of this intent of increasing professionalization.

This is how Massimiliano Bagni, AIBES trustee for Emilia Romagna-RSM, summarizes the April 4 event:

"AIBES has always promoted and popularized conscious and quality blended drinking, and has long been at the side of instructors and professors in the effort to educate consumers toward responsible drinking. Our competition is the culmination of regional association life: competitions and challenges create the appointment, which a professional member of the most important barmen association does not give up, to create, invent, perform, and exchange new ideas to ride and influence the trend of blended drinking.During the event, almost all alcoholic and non-alcoholic products from the entire Italian liquor scene are exhibited, mixed, and tasted. All this attracts to our competitions a large number of insiders, who are intrigued by the coming and going of bottles, glasses, barmen and amazing decorations in an elegant and exclusive setting." .

The event, which blends innovation with the quality of the AIBES tradition, has free admission.
