In late May 2018, the European Union legislated to ban certain single-use plastic items by 2021. The legislation, which must be approved by the European Parliament and individual country governments by May 2019, is part of the European Community's plan to reduce marine pollution; this is to create a market for recycled products and by incentivizing investment in new types of packaging. The European initiative bans the use of plastic items such as plates, cutlery, straws, Q-tips and beverage mixers that can be replaced with environmentally friendly material. For products such as food and beverage containers, the law proposes limiting their use until a viable alternative is found. Both many companies and governments in many countries have been making strides to reduce the use of plastics for years, with goals that are not only environmentally friendly, but also economically cost-saving.
The end of 2020 is in that sense the ideal time to take advantage of the deals on single-use plastics tagged RGmania!
