Pleasant discoveries

I thought from now on to let you enter the same places that I also entered and write about, using as a method the anaphora 'Imagine of...' in each article, as I did in my last piece. Perhaps it also happens to you to read a book and imagine its places, people and even scents. However, of a book you can see the movie and eventually ascertain whether you had gotten the right idea or be disappointed: with my column unfortunately you will not be able to make verifications because I am not allowed to mention the places I am talking about, but no matter what, I will let you imagine anyway.

Having said that, imagine hearing about a new place, in a small mountain village, one of those little restaurants with no more than twenty covers that offer an exclusive service in order to pamper their guests. It is not hard to imagine, but rather imagine getting to know the creator as well as owner of this little gem and having her reserve a table for a Saturday night. I'll let you also imagine the atmosphere: white tablecloths, silver cutlery, sweet background music, a beautifully complicated menu, all written in cursive. A dinner of other times, made of other attentions, where by 'other' I mean of times and attentions that are no longer remembered now in the too many restaurants that are popping up like mushrooms and aim only at numbers. Even the bread is homemade and is warm when it is brought to us on the tray: it does not last long and the second tray is not long in coming. We decide to stick with the same wine tasted at the aperitif, which is also refined and of quality. There is no shortage of free house samplings of small savory appetizers first and sweet mousse later, after the first and second courses, all meticulously explained by the impeccable waitress who reveals their contents, their making but also the best way to enjoy them. The portions are quantitatively adequate and all the dishes use traditional and home-prepared ingredients through original reinterpretations, mixing flavors that create pleasant and innovative tastes, making dinner a pleasure as well as a discovery, from the appetizer to the dessert that, despite the now tried stomach, cannot be missed, a little out of curiosity, a little out of gluttony.

In short, if quality, courtesy and professionalism are associated with taste, novelty and excellent ratio of the whole to the price, I can only let you imagine how pleasantly impressed I was by the dinner and how sorry I am at least this time not to be able to mention this charming place.
