SUMMER DRINK&EAT FESTIVAL 2011: June 27

Like all self-respecting festivals, those that know how to consolidate themselves over time and become authoritative and referential for their sector of belonging, RG Commerciale's Summer Drink&Eat Festival, after very few editions since its inception, seems to have already found the straightest path for its growth and credibility, its "figure" as the filmmakers would say.


In the previous editions it has experimented with a mix of experiences, mixing the competition for professional bartenders with presentations of innovative products and techniques, alternating with moments of fun, and in the three years it has tried to refine this mix more and more.


With this 4th edition, RG feels it has found the right balance between rigor, professional seriousness, novelty to present to the market and healthy fun.


The company has always conceived its profession as a crossroads and a balance to be sought every day between high professionalism and passion, between duty and pleasure.


Giorgio Negri, patron of the event, who has made his profession a way of life, or perhaps it would be better to say that he has made his lifestyle a profession, is convinced that those who do such a tiring, difficult, risky and unpredictable job as that of a bartender or a chef, must have within themselves a great determination, a very high professionalism, but also that mad dash and pure pleasure of fun that transforms work into artistic expression.


The Summer Drink&Eat Festival seeks to give all this back to those who participate as both operators and spectators.


The event still has to refine some organizational aspects dictated by the complexity of the interventions that follow one another at a fast pace, but the formula is now well centered: themed event, very high prestige of the attendance, total freedom of expression, day to be fully experienced to learn something from another professional and to offer others their experience.


The event is completed and complemented by the evening party that accredits the winners of the "Bartender for a night" traveling event that RG organizes with the partnership of Onesti Group under the banner of conscious drinking, offering young amateurs a chance to express themselves creatively through the conception a non-alcoholic or low-alcohol cocktail. Despite the nearly 34-degree heat that raged afternoon and evening in the venue, dehor and piazzetta facing the CROCE BIANCA venue in Forenzuola d'Arda, RG Commerciale's Summer Drink&Eat Festival was assiduously attended from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m., a continuous bustle with peaks of even more than 200 simultaneous attendees.


The SUMMER TIKI COCKTAIL JAMBOREE competition was designed for a closed number of 18 participants, but in the end 22 showed up and all were able to compete.


The attendance of participants in the competition was very diverse: from Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont, and even Puglia.


Truly interesting were the 7 workshops in front of which professionals and amateurs, enthusiasts and curious people thronged and which were held by: Dario Comini, Dom Costa, Sebastiano Garbellini, Alessandro Melis, Giorgio Tagliabue, Tommy Taje, Gianni Tota.


Important attendees included: internationally renowned bartenders, famous food and wine critics, journalists and editors, marketing and sales managers of numerous companies in the sector, food&beverage promoters...


The most recurring phrase was : "thank you, it was very interesting and I also had fun."
