With only a month to go before the Seventh Summer Drink&Eat Festival, we are ready!
RG has decided to take the leap this year and with the collaboration of Velier and Bartender.it the media partnership of Bargiornale and the total asset curated as every year by Drinkable it moves to Milan, or rather to the Chiostri di San Barnaba, in a corner of the Milanese city that really seems very far from the idea of traffic and stress that the Lombard capital has always inspired us.
Suggestive location then and important sponsors: starting with those who have been following the growth of the event for years now, such as Ballarini, Luigi Bormioli, Ceado, Trabo and Musetti, to add The Bars with whom RG has been collaborating for years, and the Pizzavacca farm.
The date chosen for the event is Monday, June 16, and throughout the day, which will kick off at 2 p.m., the challenge between the bartenders will be interspersed with two very interesting meetings, the first promoted by Ballarini in collaboration with APCI (Associazione Professionale Cuochi Italiani), with the participation of chef Roberto Cuculo, with the theme "White, Black or Granite?:all the advantages of nuovagenerazione non-stick cookwareoffered by Ballarini Professionale," while the second is a real event within the event: from 3 to 4 p.m. Bargiornale is organizing the workshop"Home Made, the expert responds": basically a back-and-forth on homemade preparations (bitters, infusions, syrups, etc.), or rather at the bar, with Saverio Linguanti, among the top Italian experts in food and beverage administration. The meeting, to which all bartenders attending the Summer Drink&Eat Festival are invited to participate, will be moderated by Stefano Nincevich of Bargiornale.
The initiative will be introduced by a demonstration, led by the teams of Smile Tree in Turin and Mag-1930 in Milan, of typical (and atypical) home-made techniques.
Finally, there will be a small photo exhibition of Cocktail Art, a group opened and maintained on facebook by Diego Ferrari, bartender and mixologist expert, which collects the most beautiful creations of bartenders from all over the world. Last but not least, a real Special Guest: Dario Comini, who will bring a surprise to the festival, as is now his custom.
The SUMMER DRINK & EAT FESTIVAL is a landmark event in the bartending industry and that is why it always keeps up with new trends. In fact, this year's theme is a drink that has made a comeback in recent times but has a long history behind it: the Bloody Mary.
The competition will be held like a real World Cup, so much so that there will be 32 participants, like the World Cup teams, and they will be divided into batteries to face each other in rounds, from the round of 16 to the finals, so that each competitor will have the opportunity to be able to prepare at least three cocktails and during the semifinals and finals also an accompanying side dish food. The jury that will evaluate the creations is composed of real authorities in the field, figures professionally at the top of the bartending area: we are talking about bartenders and journalists who have raised the level of the Italian mixologist in recent years.
In short, the day will offer food for thought on very topical issues in the world of bartending and cuisine, all, however, framed in a 'smart and friendly' event.
