In this period that never seems to pass, we have been denied even the simplest habits, daily or programmable actions that we have always carried out carelessly, without giving them any weight but that now seem so far away, vital and necessary to be able to restore the momentum that is the engine of our social life. That's why we decided to put them in black and white.
Here are the 10 things we will do when we have defeated the covid, or at least ways have been found to make it as harmless as possible, and we have reclaimed our lives.
The 10 things we will do when the covid is "defeated"
- We will take the car and drive across the border of our region only to stop at the first truck stop and have the breakfast that will take us toward the coveted weekend trip out of town. For us a breakfast menu with coffee, juice and brioche, and for you?
- We'll sit at our favorite table in our favorite venue and try out the new drink list, letting the beloved aperitif time blossom into an evening where we don't have to constantly consult the clock for fear of curfew. For those of us who love the great classics, an American!
- We will book dozens of concerts and sporting events, just so we can get in line for a cold beer, with no social distancing. A beer please (and in the distance the roar of the audience because our team scored - right in our absence, of course).
- We will wait for the vacations to spend the nights on the waterfront with ice cream in hand or in the shelters refreshing ourselves with stew and bombardino. What time is it? It's early, don't worry it will have to be the new catchphrase.
- We will smile without a mask at our trusted barista as we return to ask him for the 'usual' morning coffee before rushing to work. With a little froth, please!
- We will sleep in more on Sunday mornings to take advantage of the holiday and have an egg, juice, burger and French toast brunch. I will try the house club sandwich.
- We will go back to filling offices and taking lunch breaks with colleagues, with set menus and daily specials. Goodbye smart working!
- We'll wait for that magical time when spring meets summer, the evenings are warm and long, and the towns come alive with festivals based on big screens, symphony orchestras and territorial culinary specialties. Skewers, salamelle, potato feast, tortello feast, torta fritta feast, asparagus feast, you name it.
- We will start traveling again to try the flavors of the world: paella in Spain, falafel in the Middle East, samosas in India, bao in China, empanadas in Argentina. First stop: food and wine tour of Burgundy.
- Taking the freedom to say "I'm not going out tonight" because we decide that. Sofa it is!
