THE VITRIFIED CERAMIC
Compared with porcelain, vitrified ceramic has better chemical resistance; reduced possibility of electrical discharge; smooth, visually appealing surface; and easier cleaning.CHURCHILL: A NAME, A GUARANTEE
It is no coincidence that we are dealing with a Churchill product, one of the most important companies in the industry. The British company is a brand to bet on and one that never leaves you unsatisfied. In fact, its products have a number of features and advantages.
DURATION
- Rounded edges increase resistance to chipping.
- The handles and spouts are then designed to make them easier and safer to use in catering.
- A high percentage of Alumina is also used in all Churchill products to make them more durable and strong. The dishes have a smooth, enameled base that helps prevent scoring when stacking and does not absorb water during frequent washing.
QUALITY AND DISHWASHING
- Churchill is one of two manufacturers accredited by the British Standards Institute with the BS4034 certificate, which includes cracking on glaze/durability and glazing/water absorption.
- All products, excluding metallic decors, are manufactured to withstand the rigors of industrial dishwasher washing.
PRODUCTION CONTROLS
- Edge thickness brings a high degree of resistance to chipping.
- The use of computerized machines allows for regular profiles in the plates.
- Control over the materials used in the composition helps maintain uniformity in shape and color.
- The baking temperature is strictly controlled, because proper temperature prevents the edge from twisting or warping.
- These production controls not only increase the shelf life of the products, but also optimize space throughefficient stacking.
BAKING AT HIGH TEMPERATURES
- Churchill's vitrified products are baked in the cookie state at a temperature of 1160 °C for more than 24 hours.
- They are then glazed and baked again at a temperature of 1070 °C for another 16 hours.
- Double firing ensures that the cookie changes to a glassy state with extremely low moisture absorption.
- The second firing seals the cookie with a shiny glaze that is extremely durable and ensures that no moisture absorption is produced; something that would weaken and cause hygienic problems.
