It is a new type of biodegradable and compostable bioplastic, composed of a blend of linear polyesters, obtained from biodegradable raw materials.It is a 100% Italian, environmentally friendly-so-called eco-friendly material that can be composted in 90 days in industrial plant.
It has high heat resistance, excellent physical and mechanical properties, is completely odorless (does not change the natural taste of food and beverages) and possesses extreme versatility in processing.
In compliance with recent European regulations, the introduction of compostable products maximizes the success of single-use with zero environmental impact.
The biopolymer used is certified according to the international standard UNI EN 13432, which defines the characteristics of a compostable material.

PLA stands for polyactic acid or, more correctly, poly lactic acid or polylactate, and is the polymer of lactic acid. It is made from corn starch, and is 100% biodegradable and compostable according to EN13432.
PLA becomes biodegradable upon hydrolysis at temperature greater than 60°C and humidity greater than 20%. If it is abandoned in the environment, it has an average life span of 1 to 4 years.
